Putting The Cross Back
On The Steeple

Nashville firefighter Brian Burnett places a cross atop the towering
temporary steeple raised to mark the beginning of construction for a new
sanctuary for Second Presbyterian Church on Belmont Boulevard May 1.
Burnett, who retrieved the cross from the burned-out steeple after the 2003
three-alarm fire, slowly ascended a ladder in full gear — an awesome climax
for the Second Life Steeple Raising celebration.
